While the legislation we advanced in 2025 has not yet become law, last year’s Advocacy Summit drove real and measurable progress.
STOP CSAM Act
Advocacy meetings and sustained follow‑up by Summit participants helped build bipartisan momentum. Since the Summit, the bill has gained 17 new congressional co‑sponsors (4 in the Senate and 13 in the House) and continues to move toward committee consideration and a full vote.
Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA)
Although Congress renewed the TVPA’s domestic provisions in 2022, the international programs—essential to protecting survivors overseas—remain expired. In 2025, legislation to restore these international protections (S. 2647) passed the Senate as part of the defense authorization bill, but was ultimately left out of the final package signed into law.
Together, these efforts underscore the purpose of the Advocacy Summit: to build sustained momentum that advances policy until critical protections are secured.
